“Adulruna Rediviva” Rune Cross Pendant

$37.65 – $57.92

Perhaps best known for his research into the Old Norse runes, Johannes Bureus (1568-1652) was the first modern researcher to investigate their esoteric meanings. Influenced by the Hermetic revival of the Renaissance, Bureus saw the runic script as a “Gothic Kabbalah” in which the secrets of all natural sciences had been hidden for posterity.

The design on this amulet is a reproduction of his “Rune Cross” symbol consisting of fifteen esoteric “adalrunes.” The seven runes on the beam of the cross symbolize the ascending and descending path between heaven and earth, while the eight on the arms represent aspects of good and evil. The three crowns indicate the trinity of Odin, Thor and Frey.
